- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon Nourish sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup warm water (adjust as needed)
- 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter
- Additional melted butter for brushing
- Nourish Sunflower seeds
- Kalonji Seeds
- Fresh coriander leaves (optional, for garnish)
Methods
Prepare the Dough
Take a large bowl and combine maida along with baking soda, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add yoghurt, milk, and oil to make a soft dough for your naans. Knead the dough for around 7 to 8 minutes until it is smooth. Let it rest for 2 hours.
Shape the Naan
Divide the dough in equal sized balls as per your requirements. Put a tawa on the medium heat burner. Roll the balls into round shapes.
Cook the Naan
Put the rolled naan on the tawa and cook the surfaces evenly. Cook it until it develops bubbles on both sides and turns into golden brown colour. Once its cooked, apply melted butter properly on one side. Repeat the same with each ball.
Garnish and Serve
Chop some fresh dhaniya leaves and sprinkle some on the naans.
Tips
If you want to add some garlic flavour to your naans then you can make some garlic flavours butter and apply that on the naan instead of plain butter. Don’t forget to let your dough rest for 2 hours, it will give your naan the soft texture you want.
