Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow moong dal or chana dal
- 2-3 finely chopped green chillies
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
- 1 finely chopped small onion
- ½ tablespoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
- 1-2 tablespoons of oil (shallow frying or air fryer)
- Water for soaking
- Salt to taste
Methods
Step 1:
Rinse the dal with water until the water is clear. Soak it overnight. Once the dal is soaked, drain the water and transfer the dal to the blender. Blend dal along with water to make a thick batter.
Step 2:
In a large bowl, mix all cumin seeds, onion, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, green chillies, salt, and batter until all the ingredients are mixed well.
Step 3:
Take 1-2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan and heat it. Once heated, drop 1 spoonful of dal batter in the oil slowly and carefully. Fry the pakoras until they turn golden brown from both sides (it may take 3-4 minutes to fry each side). Take the pakoras on a butter paper and remove the excess oil.
Step 4:
Once prepared, serve the pakoras hot with green dhaniya chutney. Won’t it be an incomplete evening snack without a crispy and hot Aloo Samosa? Here’s the recipe for a homemade Samosa.
