Super Soft Idli Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiled Nourish Rice
  • 1 cup Nourish Split Urad Dal
  • 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds (optional)
  • Water for soaking and grinding
  • Salt to taste
  • Bail Kolhu Mustard oil or Sesame Oil for greasing.

Methods

Step 1

Take Nourish Rice and Urad Split Dal and soak them in water for 5 to 6 hours. You can also leave it overnight.

Step 2

Take a grinder and grind the rice and dal to get a smooth paste. You can also grind them separately to get a suitable texture. Your batter will be ready.

Step 3

Now, leave the batter for fermentation. The ideal conditions for fermentation is a warm place. Leave it in a warm place for 10 to 12 hours. It will be ready when you see the quantity is doubled.

Step 4

Now take out your idli moulds and grease them with sesame oil or your favourite Bail Kolhu Mustard oil.

Step 5

Once greased, fill them with your fermented batter. Make sure you leave ¼ space for idli to spread.

Step 6

Steam your idlis for 10 minutes in an oven or cooktop.

Step 7

Remove your idlis from the moulds and serve them with a bowl full of sambar and coconut chutney.
